African Film is an area into which i am venturing, half afraid but fully excited; and of all the ways one could find out about film, attending a film festival is probably one of the better ways to do it. Not just for the masterclasses and workshops but for the opportunity to socialize and interact with filmmakers from across Africa and the world.
For me the film festival started a day earlier than the opening film "Mediterranea" ; it in fact started when my Emma, Jeff, Katie and Ivan travelled to Lagos to see films and friends. On their first full day in Lagos I took my Relativity Media friends from the summer of 2015 to Tarkwa Bay, Lagos Nigeria. And it was good.
The first day of the Festival Launched with a showing of the Film "Mediterranea".
Other than the movie being a thought-provoking and timely reminder of the situation many Migrants face in the search for a better life, I also got to experience it with two real G's on either side of me! :) My brother Obaseun Ogunkeye and voice of reason and humour Producer, Tony Mba.
And then caught up with everyone else in a series of hilarious conversations and photo attempts (mostly trying to get Uti to look at the camera) lol! It was a very cool start to the Film Festival, for the love of Film and Friends!
